Free Festival Manifesto [sort of well er, it works for us anyway].

1] THE RIGHT TO GATHER

• The BIG SEXY FESTY PARTY is a London based free festival movement born out of free party culture and national sound system gatherings.

• It is a festival which was born and raised in fields and squats including festivals free parties, squat scene events, circus ,sound system, protest, gathering and active campaign for change through the community and the Law

• We pro actively unite the alternative cultures who embrace the right to gather as a fundamental and humanistic principle of freedom.

• The land is ours and we adhere to the ethic of “the free” in financial, esoteric, and geographical dimensions.

2] THE RIGHT TO REMAIN FREE

• We reject the elitist careerist sponsorship ethic of those who usurp our community and our sacred and ancient right to gather and who do so for their own profit and gain at the expense of our community and its future generation.

• We reject wrongful profit.

• We give financial support to worthwhile causes within our community.

• We invite fund raising by registered homeless campaigns

• We all work for a living and do not take wages from the festival fund

• We are free people.

• We are not politically affiliated.

• We are not religiously linked.

• We are anti copyright

• We are anti affiliation

• We are anti hi jack.

• We are our own security.

• We do not have a committee

• We are a collective team of experienced promoters.

• We are not out to impress.

• We do not grovel to those who might do us favours or give us money.

• Our aim is to create the connectivity of the human spirit for no financial gain or status on micro and macro levels.

• We are pro Gypsy and Traveller and embrace  nomadic and indigenous tribal races and groups and cultures, be they New Traveller, Irish Traveller, Romany Gypsy, Scottish or Welsh Traveller and Roma.

• We are pro national duty to expand Gypsy and Traveller site planning immediately.

• We are anti violence and anti war on personal and international levels.

• We are fully pro environmental development of festivals and gatherings and land .

• We try to make our urban free events as eco conscious as we can.

5] EXCELLENCE IN MUSIC

Music unifies the people and we maintain

• Our djs and bands share the same ethic. To play for free in the open air on big rigs to big crowds.

• Our root is in the traditional old school small scale open air free party put on by the small local sound systems up and down the country- on the beaches ,in the forests, on the cliffs ,in the fields ,by the lakes, in the valleys and on the mountains and  who do it for free and for the same reasons. This is our background and history. This is our unison in the festival and the basis of our equality.

• We provide world class dj’s to play along side the highest calibre festival dj’s from club, free party, studio and squat cultures. None of them have ever asked to be paid for playing at the festival. They all adhere to the ethic of “free”.

• We provide the best staging, sound systems, marquees and site planning in the country and massively appreciate the assistance of the guys who provide the kit that makes this possible [See links].

• The Live music is centrally revolved around the ethic of punk rock via Reknaw Rock n Roll Punk stage because they centrally and consistently adhere to the principles of the free festival.

• We incorporate the highest quality multi media visual projections systems and material to bring the essence of the gathering to the forefront of the musical delivery  and create an excellent show with a prominent message.[See links]

• The “Excellence in Music” policy is formed of the best quality Reggae music, Punk rock, Tecno and free party house music. This is our selection and the bedrock of Protest Music from various cultures who all live out the struggle to gather and festival for free.

• In assessing the quality of the kit and the talent that we use we consider the spirit in which it is offered as the paramount component.
